Some manufacturers of Nitro components quote a powder load in excess of 7 grains being used.  ANVIL CONVERSIONS quote 4.5 grains as the service load. Is this because their components are stronger.

The components manufactured by ANVIL CONVERSIONS are physically stronger than any other components that we have come across. The amount of metal around the powder in the chamber is thicker than it needs to be. If we wanted to increase the amount of powder the cylinder could take we could reduce the thickness of the chamber and so increase the capacity of the cylinder to take powder. Other manufacturers may well state that their revolvers can take a greater volume of powder but in reality the shooter will find that a significantly reduced charge gives better optimum performance.
